Your path to becoming a licensed life insurance agent
You don’t need years of experience to start — you need the drive to begin. If you’re new to the field, we’ll guide you through licensing and stand behind you every step of the way.
Complete your pre-licensing education
Finish any pre-licensing coursework your state requires. We’ll point you to approved providers and help you prepare.
Pass your state licensing exam
Sit for and pass your state’s life insurance licensing exam, administered through the state’s official testing vendor.
Submit your application and background check
Complete fingerprinting and a background check, then file your license application through your state’s licensing portal.
Get appointed with a carrier
Before you can offer policies, you’ll be appointed with one or more insurance carriers. We help coordinate this step.
Add securities registrationsOptional
To offer variable and investment products, you’ll earn the SIE and the applicable FINRA registrations (such as Series 6 or 7, and 63 and/or 65), with broker-dealer sponsorship.
